Coffee Without a Coffee Maker

Before the invention of the percolator in  the late 18th and early 19th centuries, coffee drinkers simply boiled water and added grounds and let is brew.

Checking my recipe box I found an easy way to make a tasty cup of coffee.

Ingredients for Recipe:
  • 1 cup coffee
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 6 cups boiling water
  • 1/4 cup very cold water
Recipe Instructions:
  1. Mix coffee with cold water and beat together
  2. Add six cups of boiling water
  3. Boil for three minutes
  4. Stir and add very cold water to settle
